Hiya, folks, everyone's favorite Nerd with a Mouth here. First things first: Blahcrap isn't dead, or at least for now. But, the whole thing with Samson probably won't get finished, must like the story serials on bioniclestory.com
Speaking of which...
I'm getting back into BIONICLE again, both the stories and figures. I don't why; a few days back, a part of me thought, "I miss BIONICLE." It sure as hell wasn't me saying that. And so, I've gotten back into it. And I've found out a few things:
1) The story serials. Those are gone. For those who don't know what in the name of Satan's rectum I'm talking about, let me explain: during the 2007 storyline to a little past the end of BIONICLE, Greg Farshtey, the guy who wrote most of the BIONICLE books, was posting stories on bionicestory.com that had to do a bit with the main storyline.
Now though, he's stopped. The site was taken down, and some of the serials weren't finished! This bothers me on so many levels.
2) Teridax's name reveal: The big bad in BIONICLE, for the most part, was a guy known as Makuta. However, it turned out that 'Makuta' was the name of species in BIONICLE. So, Greg Farshtey revealed the name of Makuta: Teridax.
Quite a few fans were upset for reasons I'm not quite sure of. I mean, Teridax is a pretty badass name. Think about it:
"Oh no, it's...Teridax!" -cue lightning strike-
At least it's not Tuma (the name of another BIONICLE bad guy)
3) The movies: This was something that bothered me even before I got back into BIONICLE. You see, BIONICLE is a Lego trademark: they made the sets, and helped with the story. They also decided to make direct-to-DVD movies.
The story told in the books and the serials were dark and mature for the most part. The movies...not so much. ESPECIALLY the last one they decided to release, The Legend Reborn. For the most part, the story told in the books about what happened around the period of the movie is dark. The movie is not dark, mature, or really all that good on any level. Sure, some of the voice acting is good (They had Michael Dorn in it. Need I say more?), but for the most part it's a tad annoying. And most of the villains aren't portrayed as they are in the books/comics/story serials. Unlike those three items, the villains of the movie, for the most part, are weak, idiotic, or both. The movie itself was...meh.
Now, I'm sure most of you reading are thinking, "What the hell is this guy talking about?" or "Hey, I remember BIONICLE, but I had no idea it had a storyline." Or "Why am I jerking off to this when there's plenty of good porn on the Internet?"
I really don't feel like going into the main storyline of BIONICLE. Just look it up.
And be sure not to be distracted by porn.
